Other than making tracks on the floor and playing with them .. the kiddos also had fun playing with beads in the afternoon ..

And all three kiddos started work on their necklaces using the normal, sharp tip needles that adults used for sewing and I am glad to say that they managed to handle the sharp tip needles quite well only for the occasional pricking on their fingers ..

Making Tracks With Tapes

Was so tempted to try this out after seeing it in Pinterest .. it's a pity that I could not buy this Road Tape locally ...

And so today will be the day that the kiddos get to play with coloured sticky tape on the living room floor .. the kiddos were so excited when they saw me coming out from my room with the rolls of coloured sticky tape which they have set their eyes on a few weeks ago when they chanced upon it in my drawers ..

Did a quick demonstration on how to make tracks with the sticky tape and left them to create their own while I busied myself with the task of washing the toilets ..

After all the rolls of sticky coloured tape has been utilized and their tracks are all over the living room floor, the kiddos were all set to play ..

~~ And if you look carefully at the back of the packaging .. this pack of cards is meant for kids aged 9 years and above and my boy is only turning 5 years old this year ~~

Thanks to the airing of this cartoon on TV, Issac is very familiar with the various characters of Cardfight! Vanguard .. He had been wanting these cards ever since that day when we were at the playground and he approached a group of older boys (aged 9 years and above) to ask if he could join them to play with these cards and were rejected ..

I see no harm in buying ONLY one pack for him (it is expensive though .. $3 for only 5 cards in one pack) ..

As the saying goes, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" .. with the kiddos now in K1 and K2, they are facing more stress in terms of their school work .. now school is no longer play, play, play .. it has now turned into a terrible monster of learn, learn, memorize, memorize and spit out ..

Even I feel the stress when I am teaching them .. so in order to keep the stress order at a healthy level, I decided to let the kiddos have as much play time as possible when 'proper' learning has already been completed (eg. doing of homework and learning of spelling etc) ..

Therefore, today we shall start off with a bit of after school bubble fun :)

~~ First, squirt some blue and yellow paint into the zip lock bags ~~

With the zip lock bags tightly sealed, it is time to begin the action and acted out the part where little blue and little yellow hugged each other until they turned green ..

Today, the kiddos school are having a celebration for Chinese New Year (CNY) 2012 and the kiddos are allowed to turn up for school in either traditional clothes or home clothes .. DIY GINGERBREAD HOUSE

~~ We got our DIY Gingerbread House kit from The Icing Room ~~

~~ The DIY kit came with all the ingredients needed for assembling our Gingerbread House ~~

MAKING PEPPERMINT BARK

Peppermint Bark has been circulating so much on Pinterest that I had to give it a try .. too bad I can't find white chocolate chips at the supermarket and it didn't occur to me to use white chocolate bar instead at that time so I omit it out of my recipe totally ..

~~ Ingredient #1 ~~

~~ Ingredient #2 ~~

Next, it's time for the kiddos to get to work *winks*

~~ The kiddos with their candy canes in a ziplock bag ~~

~~ Bing, bang, boom .. smash .. smash .. smash ~~

~~ Now it is time to melt the chocolate chips ~~

~~ Transfer the melted chocolate chip to a piece of baking or parchment paper .. I have none so I used aluminum foil instead ~~

~~ Sprinkle the crushed candy canes onto of the melted chocolate chips ~~

~~ We further decorate it with rainbow chocolate rice to make it more colourful .. chill it in the fridge til it harden .. take it out and break it into pieces and it is ready to be eaten ~~

MAKING HOT CHOCOLATE WITH MARSHMALLOW

~~ The hot chocolate that we used ~~

~~ Chocolate powder and mini marshmallow ~~

~~ The kiddos were all excited to savour their hot chocolate drink with mini marshmallow but too bad the mini marshmallow melted very fast in the warm water so the kiddos didn't really get a chance to taste them~~

Due to the slight disappointment previously .. we went to the supermarket and bought a pack of big, regular sized marshmallow to try out again ..

~~ We used the same hot chocolate mix but added in the regular sized marshmallow .. can you spot the mini marshmallow inside the cup too? ~~

Finally, the kiddos are able to enjoy both their hot chocolate & marshmallows at the same time :)

This is our 2nd Christmas Tree ..We gotten the first Christmas Tree way before the kiddos made their arrival and it was being thrown away when Princesses were about 2 years old .. so I figured that it is time for us to get another Christmas Tree as the kiddos kept asking about it ..

I decided on a Fibre Optic Christmas Tree as I like the fact that it is already per-decorated with "lights" so I do not have to spend money buying those chasing lights to decorate the tree ..

Today we had a special agenda to fulfill .. Meet Barbie at Bishan Junction 8 *smiles*

We reached at about 11.40 am and immediately went to queue for the Barbie Princess Charm School Live Show .. although it is stated that the queue will commence only one hour before the show (we are aiming for the 1pm show) .. there were already people queuing up when we went there ..

Princesses 1st Visit To The Dentist

Princesses are already 5 years old this year and I think it is time now for them to go to the dentist for a proper dental check .. I want them to know the importance of proper dental health care and not ended up like me with lots of decay in my teeth ..

Glitter bottles or discovery bottles ideas has been floating around in Pinterest for a very long while .. and I decided to try it out with the kiddos :)

First step, fill up a plastic drink bottle with tap water ..

Next step, add in glitter of your choice ..

I got the kiddos involved in a hands-on activity in the kitchen .. I intend to cook eggs for dinner and thought I might as well get their help in cracking the eggs and at the same time let them have a feel of how fragile the eggs are ..
